An A1 Valor Thief

You may have seen something about John “Super Soldier” Collier from John Lillyea at This Ain’t Hell or the guys at Guardian of Valor.  But it’s another thing when a lying fraud shows up at your website.

That’s what happened at MyServicePride.com about a month ago.

Each day, between 100 and 200 people use our rackbuilder to create a digital image of their awards and register on the site to save the image.  We don’t monitor those “sketches” because we know that people like to play with the builder to see what it will do.

But we DO pay attention every time someone orders a product with an image on it.  Our policy is that whenever someone claims one of the awards protected in the Stolen Valor Act, we reserve the right to request documentation before we produce a display product.  We also reserve the right to request documentation when our instincts and experience tell us that something is rotten in Denmark.

Then there are lying frauds whose claims are so outrageous that we reject outright.

John “Super Soldier” Collier registered this rack on MyServicePride.com:

As if these awards weren’t already raising a red flag, the thing that really stands out is that none of the awards had any devices.  Incorrect in some respects and highly unlikely for others.

And then there are the badges he claimed:

First: Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Third Award.

And how about the Parachutist Senior, which is the sixth level of parachutist qualification.

Like all liars, he’s not very consistent:

Notice that in this display, he has claimed fewer awards, but more and a whole new set of badges?

The sad truth is that he’s a veteran

This rack is one to be proud of.  Many men and women served their country faithfully in times of peace or in jobs that don’t receive much recognition.

But instead of being proud of the service he rendered, John “Super Soldier” Collier lied and claimed recognition for service HE DID NOT RENDER.

What did we do about this lying claim?

We let Mr. Collier know that we canceled his order and would require verification of his awards if he wanted to press the issue.  We also let him know that it is a federal crime to claim such awards for any type of financial gain and if we felt he was doing so we wouldn’t hesitate to report him to the authorities.

This guy has been out there before.  To read more, check out
